Arm Lift in Huntington Beach, South Gate, Lake Forest, & Fontana, CA
The appearance of your arms is important, because you show off your arms a lot, especially in summer. Aging, genetics, weight gain or loss, and lack of exercise can all combine to create sagging skin in your upper arms. An arm lift from your plastic surgeon can help.
What Is an Arm Lift?
An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure performed by a plastic surgeon.
Benefits of an Arm Lift
An arm lift offers important benefits to help you enjoy thinner, more youthful arms. An arm lift can:
- Reduce or eliminate sagging, droopy skin on the upper arms
- Reduce fat deposits in the upper arms
- Smooth and tighten the underlying tissue to create improved arm definition
Why You Might Want an Arm Lift
Sagging skin on the upper arms can’t be helped with exercise or diet. You may want an arm lift to create thinner more well-defined, more youthful arms.
Your Arm Lift Consultation
Your plastic surgeon will begin with a thorough consultation appointment. Your surgeon will examine your arms and surrounding tissue, and discuss any medical issues you have, medications, allergies, and your overall health as a surgical candidate. This is an excellent time for you to ask questions about the procedure, sedation, recovery, and other information.
The Arm Lift Surgery Procedure
An arm lift surgery is performed under IV or general sedation. Incisions are placed inside or on the back of the arm. Fat may be removed by excision or liposuction. After fat removal, the supportive tissue is tightened and recontoured using internal sutures. Skin is then smoothed over the arm.
Recovery From an Arm Lift Surgery
After your surgery, a dressing may be applied to protect the incisions, and your arms may be wrapped in a compression bandage to limit swelling. A tube may be placed under the skin to drain fluid. You will need to avoid strenuous activity and excessive arm movement while you heal. Recovery typically takes 2 to 3 weeks.
