Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation may be a good option for you if:
- You are physically healthy
- You have realistic expectations
- Your breasts are fully developed
- You are bothered by the feeling that your breasts are too small
- You are dissatisfied with your breasts losing shape and volume after pregnancy, weight loss, or with aging
- Your breasts vary in size or shape
- One or both breasts failed to develop normally
Most non-reconstructive Breast augmentation surgery can be safely performed under Tumescent (local) anesthesia, or under general anesthesia.
Breast Lift
The goal of a breast lift is to remove loose fat and tighten excess skin in "sagging" breasts. This results in a "lifted" nipple-areola with an improved shape of the breast.
The degree of "sagging" is known as ptosis. There are four basic breast lift techniques used to correct ptosis. These are known as the periareolar, circumareolar, vertical, and anchor techniques.
All except the anchor technique can be safely performed under Tumescent (local) anesthesia. The anchor technique usually requires general anesthesia since breast and fat tissue is typically removed and replaced with breast implants, and surgical drains are usually required for 3 days.
